Why, oh why, do we fear the unknown? And just why do we fear in general? The only fear that is a good healthy fear is a fear of God. It is good to be cautious when entering the unknown in a matter of actual safety for both physical and spiritual welfare but fear can be completely crippling and not allow us to not even go on. This type of fear is completely from satan.

Many times God sends us into the unknown, removes us from what is comfortable, to do His mighty work but if we allow fear to shut us down God's work cannot be done. Jesus very plainly tells us to go into all the world and preach the gospel. The world can be a scary place full of evil, hatred, judgment and temptation. But if we approach it with caution so to resist temptation and avoid becoming a stumbling block instead of a witness, and moreover, approach prayerfully as to where God is sending, allowing the Holy Spirit to work through you, God will do a mighty work, His promises overcome fear every time and your faith will be strengthened as a reward!

"Jesus turned to Peter and said, “Get away from me, Satan! You are a dangerous trap to me. You are seeing things merely from a human point of view, not from God’s.” Matthew 16:23 NLT
