After the passing of our sweet Pastor's wife, I was asked to take over her spot in the Church's newletter. Each week I write a short article of the Lord's leading. These can be used a a brief devotional or just a moment of inspiration.
Taking over this spot in the news letter is both an honor
and an humbling thing.
Big shoes, er-uh rather, big margins to fill here! I've always enjoyed writing and journaling and have done so without a thought of sharing with others but great inspiration can be gleaned from articles such as this and if God has given me the gift of writing I'm certain he intended for me to use it for His glory. Having just been bestowed the honor I'm at a bit of a loss for words. As I ponder the direction the Lord will have me take this article I'll merely end my first entry with my favorite scripture. Proverbs 3:5-6 ... Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not on thy own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths. ... and He Shall Direct Thy Paths. A memory just came to me as I typed that. This became my life verse at a very, very young age, I think it may even have been before we attended church. Miss Marjorie and Miss Virginia picked us up for VBS one year and we made little Popsicle stick fences. I chose a little plaster of Paris squirrel for decoration and a little bible verse to glue on. This was that verse. Mountain Bible Church has left this legacy on me from the beginning, my paths have been directed by the Lord, even before I knew him. It is beyond amazing how He works all things together for the good of those called according to his purpose (Ro.8:28) Anyhow, I suppose an article came together after all. A name will come for my article, a direction will come, and all will be put in place by the one who put me in place. Thanks be to God for all who has served at MBC that have helped build the legacy that it has become in my life and so many others. Continuing to Kindly Ponder ~ Ivy
